Quail Dad with Chicks
I first spotted the quail family outside my RV the other day, while sitting at my dining table, chatting with a friend. I became determined to photograph them. Armed with my Nikon D7000, its 70-300mm stabilized lens, and a monopod, I spent a lot more time than I'd like to admit trying to shoot them through an 8-inch square opening in my screen door. Perseverance paid off with this shot, snapped late in the afternoon. Photograph made in Wenatchee Heights, WA.
